No 02 // CREATE A LEAD MAGNET

The best way to build an email list is by incentivizing your users. This means we want to provide them something in exchange for their email address. For product-based businesses, this typically looks like a discount or free shipping or early access to a new product line. For service based businesses, we recommend exclusive content that provides value. This may be a how to, a quick easy guide but something that is measurable and provides instant gratification. This is how you’ll grow your list and have new friends to send emails to.

03 // START WHERE YOU ARE & MAKE IT EASY

Start with your current audience – send DMs to your audience offering them exclusive access to your freebie (see No 02 above), post about it on Instagram, add it to your website. Once you’ve built your lead magnet, tell your current audience so they become list subscribers. Then make it easy for them… Send a landing page for them to sign up or use a question box on Instagram stories where they can leave their email address. Keep the # of steps to sign up to a minimum, each additional step you’ll lose people so no you don’t want a double opt in (too many steps people).
