Your brand voice is the way your brand speaks to your audience, how you show up in words, the personality and tone that you use.

5 STEPS TO ESTABLISH YOUR BRAND VOICE

No 01 // KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE

You’ve heard us talk about the importance of knowing your target audience a hundred times. And if not, you must be new here. First step in any brand exercise, is to understand your audience. Who are you talking to. How old are they? What’s their gender, household income? What do they do for a living? And then dig deeper and get specific – where do they hang out? What podcasts do they listen to? What TV shows are they bingeing? What workout do they like? We want to know all the nitty gritty to create a super clear picture of your ideal audience. So we know exactly who they are and how we show up for them. GET OUR FREE GUIDE TO NAIL YOUR NICHE

No 02 // CHECK IN WITH YOUR CORE VALUES

What do you stand for? What are your company’s core values? Your mission statement? Check in with them. Your voice should ladder up to those.

No 03 // DEFINE YOUR BRAND PERSONALITY

Now that you’re clear on your target audience and what you stand for. Take it a step further and dig into your brand’s personality – how do you show up. Are you funny? Sassy? Smart? Peerless? Approachable? Quippy? What is it. Narrow this down to 3-5 words that describe your brand’s personality. We want to get CLEAR on this.

Now you’re ready to define your brand voice. Look at your keywords you selected for your personality, check in with your values and build out a voice that ladders up to the two to best represent your brand. Then remember to always choose consistency in every touchpoint.
